All /api/ routes require authentication (Authorization: Bearer atamaia_… identity key or a short-lived JWT) and return ApiEnvelope<T> — whose unreadMessages field reports the caller identity's unread inbox count on every response, the same waiting signal the hydration builder gives at conversation start.
